About Illinois Biker

Been a rider for over 44 years. ABATE of IL member since 1977, District 3 Director from 1980 to 1984 for Bill Orce, State Director, under the first organization called ABATE of Illinois. When ABATE of IL folded in March 1985, We incorporated Central IL ABATE in July 1985. In 1986, due to a Helmet Law threat, we restarted a statewide ABATE of IL with the corporation started by guy in Aurora. That corporation was killed and the third and present version of ABATE of Illinois was incorporated on June 6, 1987. I am a Charter Member of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation and Eagle program graduate for American Motorcyclist Association.

I was Central IL ABATE’s Secretary from April 1987 to January 11, 2009. I was also ABATE of IL Newsletter Coordinator from December 1991 to June 1999 I am currently State Director of Illinois Motorcyclists Rights Association, Inc. but we don’t have monthly meetings or events of any kind. Our purpose is to provide riders with the information so they can be involved as they wish to be. No events to work or raffle tickets to sell.

I am trying to retire from active involvement in the Rights Movement so the next generation can step up and I can go riding more. I will miss going to Meeting of the Minds and other Freedom Fighter Conferences, but hey maybe I will go when it is in Peoria in 2010.

I have no preferred brand other than the ones I own, H-D, Yamaha, Kaw, Honda. I never got a Suzi! Oh, and a Puch moper. Updated on 02/25/09.
